Rajasthan civic poll results LIVE: On his victory in the civic polls, newly elected independent Councillor Dinesh Kanwat told news agency ANI, “Winning as an independent candidate gives me the confidence that the public appreciates good work; if you have a track record of work, you do not need any political party…as for the BJP, ideology remains constant and unchanging. One does not necessarily need formal membership to be part of the BJP; one can align with the party through its ideology. However, the future course of action and strategic plans should be decided in consultation with the workers.”

Rajasthan civic poll results LIVE: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 57 of the 108 wards whose results have been declared so far in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation elections, while the Congress has secured 40 wards and other candidates and parties have won 11, with counting continuing amid tight security.

The Jaipur Municipal Corporation has 150 wards, and vote counting for the 2026 urban local body elections is underway at the Bhawani Niketan College counting centre.

Amid the counting, Congress leaders met the Jaipur District Collector over alleged discrepancies in the election results. Rajasthan Congress Legislative Party Chief Whip Rafeek Khan said the party had raised concerns over information being circulated on social media and demanded verification wherever discrepancies were found.

“In the election of those councillors, wrong things are being shown on social media, and the truth is that we are winning. So we have met the Collector regarding those things and have said that wherever there will be counting, their certificates will be given to them and if there is any difference in it… check it again and tell us,” Khan said.

Sikar: Congress won a clear majority with 38 of 65 wards in state president Govind Singh Dotasra’s stronghold. BJP won 22, independents four and RLP one.

Jhalawar: Congress secured a majority in former chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s stronghold, winning 29 of 45 wards. BJP won 13, independents two and AAP one.

Barmer: BJP secured a majority in the municipal council after 15 years, winning 29 of 55 wards.

Baran: AAP sprang a surprise by winning 31 of 60 wards, securing a clear majority. Congress won 18, BJP nine, and independents two.

Churu: BJP emerged as the largest party, winning 30 of 60 wards. Congress won 24, while independents secured six.

Rajasthan municipal election results LIVE: Congress candidate Manmohan Gurjar won Ward 51 of Sanganer in the Jaipur municipal elections by around 1,700-1,800 votes.

“We won by approximately 1700-1800 votes on our party symbol… We will do a lot of development in Sanganer. This is a victory for our people… CM Bhajan Lal Sharma is from Sanganer and is like a brother to us. Though development work faced obstacles, we will speak with him to revive and redevelop Sanganer,” says Congress candidate Manmohan Gurjar after winning Ward 51 of Sanganer in the Jaipur municipal elections.

Rajasthan municipal election results LIVE: Independent candidates could play a crucial role in several municipal corporations, including Jodhpur, Pali, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Alwar and Bikaner. In some cities, neither the BJP nor Congress has enough wards to reach the majority mark on its own.

Rajasthan municipal election results LIVE: The BJP is set to make gains in a majority of Rajasthan’s urban local bodies, according to counting trends on Monday, giving the ruling party a boost midway through its tenure in the state.

Elections were held for 309 urban local bodies — 10 municipal corporations, 47 municipal councils and 252 municipalities.

Rajasthan municipal election results LIVE: Congress leaders met the District Collector in Jaipur over alleged discrepancies in the election results at the Bhawani Niketan College counting centre.

Rajasthan Congress Legislative Party Chief Whip Rafeek Khan alleged that incorrect results were being circulated on social media, claiming that Congress candidates were actually winning in several councillor seats.

“In the election of those councillors, wrong things are being shown on social media, and the truth is that we are winning. So we have met the Collector regarding those things and have said that wherever there will be counting, their certificates will be given to them and if there is any difference in it… check it again and tell us… but we will not tolerate any scam, and we will fight for our rights,” Khan said.

Rajasthan local body election result 2026 LIVE: Gen Z will have representation in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation after 21-year-old Congress candidate Faiz Hasan won from Ward 71. He recieved 5,426 votes.

Hasan defeated his nearest rival, Mohammad Salim, an Independent candidate who recieved 5,256 votes. While the BJP candidate Nisha Gaur finished third.

Of the corporation’s 150 wards, the BJP has so far won 40 seats, the Congress 33 and Independent candidates eight. Prominent BJP winner Sunil Kothari, who secured Ward 112, is considered a contender for the mayor’s post.

Meanwhile, counting in Wards 25 and 47 has been temporarily halted due to technical problems with EVMs. The results for Wards 34 and 72 have also been put on hold.

Rajasthan local body election result 2026 LIVE: The BJP’s official candidate from Ward 13 of Parbatsar Municipality, Deedwana-Kuchaman disctrict, secured just one vote, equal to the number of votes cast for NOTA.

Congress candidate Hina Khanam won the ward with 376 votes, defeating her nearest rival, Independent candidate Rasheed Khan, by 181 votes. Khan received 195 votes.

Rajasthan Local Body Election Result 2026 LIVE: In a significant setback for the ruling BJP, Congress has won Pali Municipal Corporation, a stronghold of BJP state president Madan Rathore.

Congress won 29 of the 65 wards in Pali, against 21 for the BJP and 15 for independents, making the independents crucial to the formation of the board.

In Ajmer, Congress put up a strong performance and is close to returning to power in the civic body after 36 years, winning 37 of the 80 wards against 32 for the BJP and 11 for independents. Neither party has a majority, leaving independents as kingmakers.

“And the Congress party is coming with a very good mandate in Jaipur. But dishonesty is happening. CM Bhajanlal Sharma called the collector of Jaipur yesterday and said that wherever there is a win or loss by a few votes, make the BJP win… bullying will not work. I do not want any trouble in Jaipur. If the officials agree, then it is fine; otherwise, the BJP will be responsible for any conflict,” news agency ANI reported.

Rajasthan Local Body Election Result 2026 LIVE: The civic elections witnessed an intense campaign by the BJP and the Congress, while Independents and candidates of other parties were also in the fray in several urban bodies.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot, Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Tikaram Jully, BJP state president Madan Rathore and Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra were among the prominent leaders who campaigned for their respective parties.

The elections are politically significant as the results will determine the control of civic bodies across the state and provide an indication of the urban electoral mood nearly three years after the 2023 Assembly elections.

Rajasthan local body election result 2026 LIVE: Polling for 162 urban local bodies was held in the first phase on September 9, recording a voter turnout of 76.42 per cent.

The remaining 147 urban local bodies went to the polls on September 11, with a voter turnout of 70.68 per cent.
